Event One - 2020
St Catherine’s (or ‘Catz’ as it is fondly known) is Oxford’s youngest, and largest, undergraduate and graduate college. Founded in 1962, it celebrated its 50th anniversary as a College in 2012, although its roots actually date back to the nineteenth century.

1962St Catherine's College was founded.It was the first college to be created after the Second World War and was designed by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen. It was also the first mixed (male and female) college of the university.

1974St Catherine's College became one of the first men's collegesSt Catherine's College became one of the first men's colleges in Oxford to admit women as full members, just two years after the first women's college at Oxford (St Anne's) began to admit men.
